Q1. How to memorize the Bhagavad Gita verses?

Try to memorize verses along with its meaning and when you try like this, you will be able to memorize. Once you memorize one verse, then you will be able to memorize many other verses.

Q2. If I (the spirit soul) am part and parcel of Lord Krishna, then why am I away from Krishna? Is the soul impure?

No, soul is absolutely pure but it has collected dust just as mirror is always pure although it may be covered by dust. Every soul has a free will to choose between living with Krishna or leaving Krishna. And we misused our free will by leaving Krishna, hence we are away from Krishna.

Q3. How can I be unbiased while serving my family?

When you think that everyone is Krishna’s child, then you will much better serve your family.

Q4. Why did Lord Rama worship Lord Shiva although being absolute truth?

Lord Rama acts as God in front of demons like Ravana but He never acts as God for his devotees. He is bhakta-vatsala( always favorably inclined towards His devotees) and Lord Shiva is the topmost devotee of Lord Rama, that’s why Lord Rama worshipped Lord Shiva.

Q5. My family tradition demands worship of demigods, what to do?

Demigods are empowered by Krishna. So you should not worship demigods thinking that they are God, rather you should pray to them to increase your devotion to Krishna.

Q6. How to practice detachment and controlling the mind?

You should acquire spiritual intelligence by which you will be able to know your original identity as a soul and servant of Krishna. We will soon conduct meditation and chanting sessions which will help in controlling the mind.

Q7. Tell one Bhagavad Gita verse which is the essence of Bhagavad Gita

18.65 is the essence of Bhagavad Gita

man-manā bhava mad-bhakto
mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru
mām evaiṣyasi satyaṁ te
pratijāne priyo ’si me

Translation: Always think of Me, become My devotee, worship Me and offer your homage unto Me. Thus you will come to Me without fail. I promise you this because you are My very dear friend.

Q8. Is there any way to learn Bhagavad Gita for small kids?

Yes, We have Prahlada school for kids every Sunday in ISKCON temples. Also, there is an online Sunday School program for kids conducted by Bhagavad Gita pathshala in Dehradun.

Q9. What happens to a neophyte devotee if he dies without perfection?

Since he/she takes up Krishna consciousness in this birth, he/she will born in a devotee family and get another chance to achieve perfection.

Q10. How to understand increase of population? Are souls being created?

No, souls are not created. Total number of souls are not increasing but souls having bodies of lower species may get bodies of human. So, human population may increase.

Q11. My daughter can’t talk or understand due to health issues. How to engage her in Bhakti?

Give her prasadam, offered water and charanamrita. And you must take Krishna consciousness seriously.

Q12. I don’t want to misbehave with anyone but in many situations, I can’t control myself and then regret. What to do?

If you misbehave with someone, go and beg apology from him/her and Krishna. And pray from Krishna that this thing should not happen again. And the most important thing is that you should chant the holy names-

Q13. Why do sometimes non-devotees die peacefully and a devotee goes through suffering?

No, it is wrong. It is just your perception. Non-devotees are very afraid at death time because they don’t accept that they are soul and devotees don’t afraid of death because they know that they are soul and hence eternal.

Q14. Are Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita are sufficient for spiritual life?

Yes, you don’t need to read any other book.

Q15. If one suffers, then entire mankind suffers. Is it a correct understanding?

Yes. There are two types of karma- individual karma and group karma. By group karma, We have to pay the price of all the animals who are being slaughtered. We have no other hope than taking exclusive shelter of Lord Krishna.

Q16. When material world was first manifested and how different bodies given to different souls?

The idea that at some point of time this material world created, is wrong. There is no past, present, and future with respect to Absolute truth.

Q17. How to convince my family not to eat meat?

By setting a good example. If they see that you have become a better person by studying Bhagavad Gita, they will also inclined towards Bhagavad Gita and will give up meat eating
