NEED OF ASHRAM!! NEED OF SPIRITUAL CULTURE!!
Hare Krishna!!
Gone are the days when people used to live close to Mother Earth!! People have a very connected life with nature and their spirit. Now, it is displaced by smartphones newspapers and many other things. Not only youths today, are victims of this disease, but kids, adults and aged are also not left untouched by this. Where is the time for ourselves even? What to say about spending time with another person sitting beside us!! We are now engaged in hearing about worldwide news, YouTube, Instagram reels etc.

Let’s discuss this topic and get some extra wonderful information from our Vedic scriptures…
These above-mentioned issues that we have discussed above are but our forgetfulness towards our real purpose of life. If someone tells, in media- “This and this is real goal, that we should aspire for.” We believe in that blindly.
In the purport to SB(1.7.2), Srila Prabhupada says, “Spiritual culture is common for all.” The one and only mission of our human life is to realize the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna. It is not a subject matter for those only, who have attained the very age of 60-70 years. Prahalad Maharaja says, that one should be taught in this divine process of self-realization from a very tender age of 5 years.
But, we deride this divine pathway. And what we say!! “My way is High way.” This is total foolishness.
The question arises- How to get out of this foolish mentality???
We need to advance ourselves by sharpening our spiritual intelligence. Srila Prabhupada says, “For spiritual advancement of knowledge a suitable place and atmosphere are definitely required.” We have to make our atmosphere adjustable to our spiritual progress. Obviously, we cannot study peacefully if there is loudspeakers crying nearby!! It would be impractical for all of us.
Srila Prabhupada stresses on the word ‘ASHRAM’. An ashram is a place where we can foster our spiritual journey. Each and every one of us can make our life and home an ashram. An Ashramly life!! An Ashramly home!!
We can inquire, “O!! It means… Let’s all leave home and go to an Ashram Institute nearby.” NO. NO. It means, we have to lead our spiritual journey, as The Supreme Lord has told in Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavatam and other scriptures.
In the purport to SB(9.10.50), Srila Prabhupada says, “Simply enforcing laws and ordinances cannot make the citizens obedient and lawful. That is impossible.” He further says, “Good citizenship, therefore, cannot be enforced; the citizens must be trained.”
Training is mandatory. This is not a choice. No training means chaos in society. Each and everyone should be trained as per varna-ashrama culture (the culture is based on nature and action, not on birth). One such example is Vedvyasa, who leads an examplary life. He was a householder, but His residence is an ashram, at Samyaprasa. His residence was a training centre, where Srimad
Bhagavatam has been manifested.
We all seek Rama-Rajya without Lord Rama. If we lead our life with Lord Rama as the centre of life, then only we can get out of the above mentioned issues.
Let’s invite Lord Rama in our lives!! Let’s enjoy a joyful life!!
