Discovering Our Life’s Purpose with Bhagavad Gita

Discovering Our Life’s Purpose with Bhagavad Gita

Hare Krishna!!

Modernity is running towards shaping its very purpose. In modern civilisation, there came various means adopted to attain perfection. But, does gaining perfection by modern means cultivate our real purpose of this very very rare and useful human life???

Let’s have a wonderful discussion on this topic and get divine jewels of Vedic wisdom!!!

In modern society, we find different opportunities for gaining perfection. Sometimes, we get puzzled about which one will be the best for me. In BG(4.13), The Supreme Personality of Godhead says, “According to the three modes of material nature and the work associated with them, the four divisions of human society are created by me.”

There, in society, we will find four classes namely, intellectual, administrative, mercantile and labour class. Each class has its own significance. If any class

will be missing, then there will be chaos, disorder and stress and strain in the society.

But, what we are doing??? We are leaving our main occupational duties, giving the sheets of faults in our prescribed duties. That should not be done.

In BG(18.47), He says, “It is better to engage in one’s own occupation, even though one may perform it imperfectly, than to accept another’s occupation and perform it perfectly.”

There will be certainly some faults. But, if we engage ourselves in our prescribed duties and simultaneously think of Krishna (mām anusmara yudhya ca: BG 8.7), then that will be our perfection.

We can attain the purpose of our life by performing our prescribed duties and simultaneously endeavoring for our spiritual goals. Prescribed duties will be considered useless (śrama eva hi kevalam: SB 1.2.8) if these duties do not shake hand with spiritual goals. All our goals will be mixed with ashes otherwise.

Let us read Bhagavad Gita As It Is altogether and discover purpose of our very human birth!!
